The idea of the project from the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO):

You will develop a stage performance that represents the Normandy landings from multiple perspectives. You will perform the historical event on stage through the historical witness statements of young soldiers, residents, resistance fighters, etc. who experienced the landing in 1944.

The performance on stage will resemble a "live report" via smartphone ... 1944 experienced and transmitted with today's media!

During a six-day exchange in Normandy at the beginning of June and an online preparation in advance, you will select the biographies and develop the dramaturgy. You will be supported by a dramaturge, historians and intercultural teamers.

The aim is to present and convey history in a differentiated and touching way, shedding light on the events of 1944 from different angles - all from the perspective of today’s young people.

The short performance will be presented as part of the official commemorations to mark the 80th  anniversary of D-Day.
