In 1963, French President Charles de Gaulle and German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer signed the Treaty on Franco-German Cooperation at the Élysée Palace in Paris. The foundation stone for a long- lasting friendship was laid.
The Franco-German Youth Office and the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung would like to take this as an opportunity to bring young German and French people together at a congress/festival.
Around 300 young people aged 16 to 27 from Germany and France will be there to discuss exciting topics that concern and preoccupy both countries.
The goal of the event is to inspire young people to get involved for themselves and others.
The themes range from Franco-German relations, digital communication, globalization and climate to politics and any topic that is important to you!
The special thing about the event: It is organized by young people themselves and you can be part of the preparation team.

The general working language is English, but the meeting in Cologne is of course a good place to practice your French and German. Don't worry: You don't have to speak perfect English. As long as you can express yourself, everything is fine, we will support each other.
After our meeting in Cologne, we will continue to work in digital working groups via Zoom and Slack. A final preparatory meeting is planned for June 2023 in Berlin.
The costs for travel and accommodation will be covered. The agencies edu:impact and DENK GLOBAL! accompany the congress content-wise, you can reach us at info@denkglobal.org for questions.
You will meet many exciting people, expand your knowledge and have the opportunity to contribute your own skills to the team. Click here to register till the 30th of November.
In Cologne we will work together on a great program for the youth congress, get to know the location and find ourselves as a team.
We look forward to see you!
