An opportunity to engage and to express yourself on Europe and its Neighbourhood Policy with young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, France and Germany!


Following the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels on December 15th 2021 and on the occasion of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Franco-German Youth Office is organising, in cooperation with Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen and Rue de la Mémoire, a meeting between ten young people per country from Armenia, Azerbaijan, France and Germany. This is an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Europe and the Caucasus, to address issues related to the European Neighbourhood Policy and to deal more specifically with the cooperation carried out in the frame of the Eastern Partnership. Meetings and exchanges with political, academic and civil society actors are planned, as well as visits to European and Franco-German institutions. 



When will this youth encounter take place?


From June 06th to 10th 2022 in Strasbourg (France)


Arrival is scheduled for Monday June 6th in the afternoon and departure will be possible on Friday June 10th in the late morning. The complete programme will be communicated soon.



Fees & travel costs:


Full board and accommodation will be provided and paid by the organisers.


Travel costs will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 150 € for those coming from France and up to a maximum of 180 € for those coming from Germany (price of a train journey in 2nd class). Reimbursement will be processed after submission of your receipts.


The FGYO will cover round trip travel costs of participants from Armenia and Azerbaijan, from Erevan or Baku to Strasbourg. The FGYO will support these participants in booking the flights.


The participants from Armenia and Azerbaijan should have valid documents to submit their own visa application to the relevant French Embassy or Consulate. The FGYO will write letters of support to help with this process.



Working language: 


The working language during the encounter and the workshops will be English.



Applicants have to:  


  • be between 18 and 30

  • be a resident in one of the named countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, France

  • be sufficiently good in English to participate in the discussions

  • be highly interested in socio-political topics, EU-politics and international relations

  • be engaged in civil society projects

  • possess a valid passport to enter the EU territory

  • be vaccinated against Covid-19 (see criteria in the call for applications)
