International youth encounters, European education and peace work go hand in hand. They enable European youth to stand up for the protection of human rights and democracy and to react to what is happening around them. Europe represents an extraordinary opportunity for them to shape their personal, professional and collective future, which is why they in particular want to act to secure the European project and their future.   


Within the framework of the call for projects “Our Europe, Our Future!” we can support them in this together!


The call for projects promotes bi- and trilateral youth encounters and further training for experts in international youth exchange with the aim to…


  • provide young people with skills to engage in democratic structures and inclusive political processes,


  • promote young people's commitment to a democratic, free and peaceful Europe,


  • facilitate discussions on one or more European issues and related global challenges,


  • help young people to better understand the functioning of political (European) institutions,


  • provide mobility to as many young people as possible, including those who have difficult access to it,


  • provide intercultural competences,


  • contribute to solidarity.


An eligible project must address at least one of the following topics:


  • Europe’s future


  • Youth and peace


  • Vocational training and entrepreneurship


  • Sustainable Development and Environment


  • Culture and Sport


Who may apply?


Non-profit associations, local or regional authorities, organisations and associations in the field of informal education for children and young people, culture, science, media and sport, as well as schools, universities, vocational schools and town twinnings scheme that form of a Franco-German or trilateral organisational team.



Programme duration:


  • See current FGYO guidelines


  • Projects must be completed (if possible) by 15 November 2023


  • For digital and hybrid projects, programme days do not necessarily have to be consecutive


     but the application must show exactly for how long and how often the young people will exchange and collaborate online. 



Financial support:


Selected Franco-German projects can be funded with a maximum of 15,000 €. Trilateral projects are eligible for funding up to a maximum of 20,000 €.



Grant application:  


Each project phase is the subject of a single grant application submitted by the German or French partner. The application must be sent using the application form in German or French exclusively by e-mail to europa@dfjw.org. A preliminary programme must accompany the application form. First-time applicants are requested to enclose a statute of their structure. Incomplete applications will not be processed.


For legal reasons, only partners with an office registered in France or Germany may submit an application.
