"Franco-German and trilateral mobility projects"

The youth encounters are carried out either by the FGYO itself or by its many partner organisations. The FGYO manages public funding and makes it available for Franco-German and trilateral mobility projects. This helps limit the costs to the participants themselves. The FGYO wants to make educational stays abroad affordable for all young people from Germany, France and other countries. This effort is designed particularly to create opportunities for intercultural experiences for children and adolescents with limited access to mobility programmes.

The right offer for all

The FGYO organizes and supports a very wide range of exchange formats to permit as many young people as possible to participate:

  • Life situation: In-school and extracurricular, in an apprenticeship, pursuing a career, during university studies or other transitional phases in young people’s lives
  • Topic: Sports, culture and music, ecology and sustainability, social affairs, history and research, town twinning
  • Duration: Funding is available for projects lasting from a few days to around one year.
  • Mission/function: Young people can complete an exchange as participants, pupils, interns, career starters, graduates or volunteers.
  • Countries & regions: In addition to Germany and France, another country can also participate in what is referred to as a ‘trilateral exchange’. In addition to certain European countries, participation by the countries of the Maghreb in particular is possible.

Are you interested in an exchange project? You can find information tailored to you on our pages for children, adolescents or young adults. There is also a homepage where teachers and partner organisations can find all the facts are relevant to them.
