Creating a German-French Theater Project Together
I am a French teacher at the Laborschule Bielefeld and am looking for a French partner school for a creative theater project with a 10th-grade (ages 15–16).
The idea is to jointly develop a German-French theater project that combines language learning, theater education, and intercultural exchange.
Over the course of the school year, both classes will each prepare their own play. In addition, we would like to bring our students into contact with one another even before the exchanges through digital interactions (e.g., video conferences, Tele-Tandem, or joint projects).
The highlights of the project are two exchanges—one in Germany and one in France. During these exchanges, the students will participate in theater workshops together, explore the host country, and perform their plays for each other. In addition, they could also develop or improvise scenes together.
I am particularly interested in the Thealingua method, which innovatively combines theater, foreign language learning, and intercultural exchange. The project aims to enable students to apply their language skills in authentic situations, gain self-confidence, and work creatively together.
I look forward to partnering with a school that is eager to plan and further develop this project together. Your own ideas and areas of focus are expressly welcome—the project should be developed through close collaboration.
I look forward to hearing from you!
