A French diplomat and senior civil servant, she studied at Sciences Po Paris, the University of Burgundy, Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. She has held positions of responsibility both in France and abroad. She served as Prefect of the Meuse and then of the Allier, before becoming French Consul General in Frankfurt am Main and Casablanca. Her career has also led her to hold various positions representing the State. She worked at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, where she developed recognised expertise in the fields of international relations, European affairs, security and defence. Pascale Trimbach has taken part in several election observation missions for the OSCE, which have enabled her to deepen her understanding of territorial and European issues. These missions have strengthened her commitment to regions deeply marked by European history, and forged her conviction that the work of remembrance plays an essential role in consolidating peace – especially among young people. Committed to the transmission of knowledge and serving the public interest, Pascale Trimbach teaches international relations at INALCO and Sciences Po Aix. She is a Knight of the Legion of Honour, an Officer of the National Order of Merit and the recipient of several French ministerial honours.
